The Archdiocese of Chicago created "Praying for a Peaceful Summer" banners for every Catholic elementary and secondary school in Cook and Lake County. Archbishop Cupich has asked the schools to display the 4-by-8-foot banners outside their buildings throughout the summer to encourage all to pray for peace.

Sister Mary Jo, 50, started playing softball, basketball and volleyball in elementary school, and she was a three-sport athlete all through high school and her first two years of college. She dropped basketball for her final two years, but stuck with softball and volleyball.
