Celebrating our jubilarians

The following communities were inadvertently left out of our annual jubilarian issue July 30. In that issue we celebrated men and women religious marking milestones in religious life.


Sisters of the Resurrection
75 years
Sister Mary Evelyn Giemza taught elementary school for 10 years at Resurrection Academy, St. Mary of the Angels and in Alabama. She was a nurse at Resurrection Medical Center for 31 years, serving in anesthesia, surgery, the emergency room, the recovery room, outpatient care and as a surgical unit supervisor. She does ministry of prayer at Queen of the Resurrection House of Prayer.

60 years
Sister Stephanie Blaszczynski, from St. Mary of the Angels Parish, taught science and math at Resurrection High School for 20 years and was president of the school for six years. She served on the order’s general council, as treasurer in Rome and as provincial in Chicago. She now is provincial treasurer. She also served as headmistress of a school in Tanzania for four years.

50 years
Sister Donna Marie Wolowicki, from St. Thecla Parish, is president of Resurrection College Prep High School. She was a nurse at Resurrection Medical Center before serving for 22 years as CEO of Resurrection Medical Center and Holy Family Medical Center. She also did formation work for seven years.

Sisters of St. Casimir
75 years
Sister Andreata Naudziunas was born in Massachusetts and served in education, accounting and data entry. In Chicago she taught at St. George (Bridgeport), All Saints School (Roseland), Nativity BVM (Chicago Lawn), Providence of God (Pilsen), and served in the Sisters of St. Casimir’s food pantry, Holy Cross Hospital’s business office and Maria High School’s alumnae office. She does prayer ministry at Our Lady of Victory Convent in Lemont.
Sister Evelyn Vichoras taught at Our Lady of Vilna and Nativity BVM and was a nurse at Loretto Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital and in Nebraska. She does prayer ministry at Franciscan Village in Lemont.

60 years
Sister M. Janine Golubickis taught at All Saints (Roseland), Sts. Peter and Paul and Providence of God. She was a pastoral associate at All Saints-St. Anthony and St. Paul (22nd Place) and did pastoral ministry at Holy Family Villa. She also did vocation and formation ministry. She now is the coordinator for assisted living for sisters at Franciscan Village, Lemont.
Sister Marilyn Kuzmickus, from St. Bartholomew Parish, Waukegan, was an educator at Immaculate Conception (44th Street), St. George (Bridgeport), Sts. Peter and Paul, Providence of God and Maria High School. She also worked in formation ministry and congregational leadership. She does prayer ministry at Franciscan Village in Lemont.
Sister Lucille Zelvys taught at Providence of God and Immaculate Conception (44th Street) and served as a nurse at Loretto Hospital, Maria High School and Holy Cross Hospital. She does prayer ministry at Franciscan Village in Lemont.

50 years
Sister Regina Marie Dubickas taught at Immaculate Conception (44th Street), Nativity BVM and Providence of God. She also worked in vocation and formation ministry and as a psychologist. She now is the congregation’s general superior.
