SISTER MARY LOUISE PFANNENSTIEL worked in primary education, in libraries and learning centers and as a foster grandparent aide. She served at St. Nicholas, Evanston, and in Wisconsin, Indiana and Kansas. She is retired and does prayer ministry at Nazareth Court, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin

SISTER MARY MARTIN VOGLEWEDE was a teacher and social service provider and did neighborhood outreach. She served at St. Nicholas, Evanston; Unity House; and in Wisconsin, Alabama and Indiana. She is retired at Nazareth Court, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

50 YEARS

SISTER ANN KOERNER worked in education, nursing, parish and social service administration and sponsorship ministry. She served at Unity House; in Naperville, Illinois; and in Wisconsin. She is the project manager, Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, Milwaukee

SISTER SHARON POLLNOW was a teacher, principal, parish staff member, congregational leader, clinical social worker and spiritual director. She served at St. Nicholas, Evanston, and in Wisconsin and Ohio, where she now works as a clinical social worker, doing psycho-social assessment and counseling, and is a grief and trauma specialist at the Sophia Center in Sylvania

SISTER DELPHINE GRIGAS was a teacher, offered pastoral care and did volunteer work with religious education. She served at Immaculate Conception (44th Street); St. Anthony, Cicero; St. Norbert, Northbrook; St. Pius X, Stickney; Holy Cross Hospital; St. Bartholomew, Waukegan and in Volo, Illinois; Massachusetts; Pennsylvania; Maryland; Florida; California; and Rhode Island. SISTER M. IMMACULA WENDT has been a teacher, administrator and congregational leader: general superior, general treasurer and motherhouse maintenance supervisor and treasurer. She served at St. George (Bridgeport); in the Joliet, Illinois, diocese; and in New Mexico. She is the assistant general superior and general treasurer in Chicago for her congregation.

50 YEARS

SISTER VIRGINIA GAPSIS, from Our Lady of Vilna Parish, worked in education and administration. She served at Sts. Peter and Paul; St. Norbert, Northbrook; Providence of God; St.Paul-Our Lady of Vilna; Immaculate Conception (44th Street); St. Clement; in the Joliet, Illinois, diocese; and in Indiana, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Minnesota and Ohio. SISTER AGNETTE BENGAL was a teacher, principal, social worker, treasurer, seamstress and community leader. She now does prayerful presence at Sacred Heart Convent, Wilmette.

80 YEARS

SISTER RENEE MILLER, from St. Mary Parish, Evanston, was a teacher, sacristan, housekeeper, seamstress and pastoral minister. She served at St. Aloysius; St. Isaac Jogues, Niles; St. Teresa of Avila; St. Theresa, Palatine; Josephinum High School; Maria Immaculata; and Sacred Heart Convent, Wilmette; and in Missouri and Iowa. SISTER MARY EILEEN O’CONNOR, whose home parishes were St. Gertrude, Franklin Park, and St. Aloysius, dedicated her religious life to education at the elementary, high school and college levels. She served at St. Theresa, Palatine; St. Clement; Mallinckrodt College and Loyola University- Mallinckrodt Campus, Wilmette; and in Louisiana and Minnesota. She is retired at Sacred Heart Convent, Wilmette.

75 YEARS

SISTER THERESE FIELDS was a teacher, principal and administrator; did vocation and formation ministry; was House of Prayer coordinator; and ministered to the poor. She served at St. Aloysius; St. Martha, Morton Grove; St. Theresa, Palatine; St. Mary of Celle, Berwyn; and St. Joseph, Wilmette. She now does light duties, is the convent annalist and shares and converses each week with high school students at Sacred Heart Convent, Wilmette.

60 YEARS

SISTER CAMPION BRESKE was a teacher, religious education coordinator and activities director for retired sisters; ministered to the deaf; and offered pastoral ministry on Native American reservations. She served at St. Gregory; St. Theresa, Palatine; Holy Ghost, South Holland; Sacred Heart Convent, Wilmette; and in Missouri, Louisiana, Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota. She now is a local community leader at Josephinum Convent

SISTER ELEANOR ANN ORTMANN worked in elementary education, did secretarial duties and worked in nursing and health care at Sacred Heart Convent. SISTER ANNE (MARY NERI) GUINAN, from St. Philip Neri Parish, was a law clerk and attorney, assistant public defender, criminal justice specialist and volunteer for a legal aid group. She served at Rush Medical Center, Chicago Legal Aid and with the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority. SISTER FRANCES (JEAN MARCEL) NADOLNY was a teacher, principal and coordinator of religious education. SISTER GLORIA (AMABILIS) HIGGINS was a teacher and served in her community’s business office. She served at Epiphany; in Rockford, Illinois; and in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Kansas. She is retired at the motherhouse in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin.

70 YEARS

SISTER KATHLEEN (MARIE WINIFRED) O’DONNELL, from St. Benedict Parish, was a teacher and secretary. She served her congregation’s eastern province in River Forest; at Visitation; Misericordia Home North; in Rockford, Illinois and in Oklahoma; Washington, D.C.; Minnesota; Wisconsin; and Alabama. She is retired at the motherhouse, Sinsinawa, Wisconsin.

60 YEARS

SISTER DIANE (MATHANA) BOUTET, from Epiphany Parish, worked in education, religious education, adult religious education and as a development director and pastoral associate. She served at St. Thomas of Villanova, Palatine; St. Clement; Visitation; and in Wisconsin and Minnesota. She is the development director at Visitation Catholic School, where she has worked since 1999

SISTER RITA RAE (RAFFAELLO) BURGER was a teacher and did library and media work. She served at St. Sabina, Epiphany, St. Thomas the Apostle and in Montana, Wyoming, California, Minnesota, Washington and Wisconsin, where she has served as a volunteer in Madison since 2007

SISTER PATRICIA (ALBERTA) CARAHER, from St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Oak Park, was an educator, taught ESL work, did prison ministry and was her congregation’s Southern Province councilor. She served at Friendship House and at St. Thomas of Canterbury, where she co-founded Amos Temporary Help, and in Alabama, Georgia, New York, Florida and Louisiana. SISTER CAROL (MARY GIORDANO) COENEN was a principal, campus minister, director of religious education and offered pastoral care. She served at St. Giles, Oak Park; Immaculate Conception (North Park); Trinity and St. Vincent Ferrer, River Forest; and in New York, Wisconsin, Wyoming, California and Colorado. She is a massage therapist in Wheat Ridge, Colorado

SISTER ARTURO CRANSTON taught music and led Camp WeHaKee after learning fishery, wildlife and forestry management and developing recreation programs while interning with Land between the Lakes, a federal project located on federal land in Kentucky and Tennessee. This led her to a 22-year ministry as director of the Wisconsin girls’ camp program serving as director, co-director and development staff. She also served in Illinois, Montana, Minnesota and in Washington, D.C. She is a musician in residence at the motherhouse and St. Dominic Villa, Sinsinawa,Wisconsin

SISTER MARY CLEMENTE DAVLIN, from St. Philip Neri Parish, taught at Dominican University (formerly Rosary College), River Forest; Malcom X College and in Wisconsin, California and England. She lives in community in River Forest

SISTER MARY ANN (MARIE MIGUEL) CASEY, from Visitation Parish, has been a school and religious education teacher. SISTER CAROLYN (DIONIS) CROFT worked in education and administration and as a consultant. SISTER SUSAN MAJCEN was a school and religious education teacher and a principal. She first served with the School Sisters of St. Francis Christ the King in Lemont, Illinois. From 1941 to 1955, she operated heavy farm equipment; drove a team of horses to assist in the plowing, planting and harvesting of crops; milked a herd of cows, fed the pigs and did other farm-related chores, all while wearing her religious habit. Sister Veronica also was the community laundress and an operator of heavy industrial machines for 45 years of her religious life and worked in food service for 56 years of her time as a Sister of St. Francis of Christ the King.
