Hoop dreams

Seventh graders in the The Northwest Suburban Catholic Conference (NWSCC) competed in a 4-day event as part of the Matt Hupp Memorial basketball tournament hosted by St. Gilbert in Grayslake on Dec. 9. Matt Hupp, a seventh-grade honor roll student at St. Gilbert School in Grayslake lost his battle with a rare form of cancer in 2009. The Northwest Suburban Catholic Conference (NWSCC) consists of 12 area schools, including St. James, St. Alphonsus, St. Ann, St. Colette, St. Emily, St. Hubert, Our Lady of the Wayside, Queen of the Rosary, St. Raymond, St. Theresa, St. Thomas and St. Zachary.
