Catholic school board bestows its first honors

The first Distinguished Service Awards dinner sponsored by the Office of Catholic Schools and the archdiocese’s Board of Catholic Schools honored the following people during the Feb. 21 event at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile:

Blue Ribbons

Blue Ribbon Schools: St. Joseph Elementary School, Libertyville and St. Raymond Elementary School, Mount Prospect; NCEA Distinguished teachers: Julie Szwedo Noigebauer from Immaculate Conception School, Talcott, and Dominican Sister Marion O’Connor from Regina Dominican High School; NCEA Distinguished Pastor Father Patrick Lee from Immaculate Conception Parish (North Park).

Special Service Awards were given to Elaine Schuster, past superintendent of schools; Joshua Hale, executive director of the Big Shoulders Fund; and Holy Cross Father Timothy Scully, a political science professor at the University of Notre Dame.
