National shrine celebrates Mother Cabrini’s birthday, canonization anniversary
Augustinian Bishop Daniel Turley was the main celebrant for a Mass at The National Shrine of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, located in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood on July 12, 2026. The shrine celebrated the 80th anniversary of the canonization of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini with a weekend of prayer, music, speakers, cultural festivities and fellowship that weekend. The celebration will also commemorate what would have been her 176th birthday. More commonly known as Mother Cabrini, she was canonized on July 7, 1946, and became the first United States citizen to be declared a saint by the Catholic Church.
