El Señor de los Milagros
Parishioners carried the icon of El Señor de los Milagros, or Lord of the Miracles, during a procession at St. Ignatius Church, 6559 N. Glenwood Ave., on Oct. 15. The honor of carrying the Peruvian icon is shared by brotherhoods who take turns bearing it though the streets. Each year thousands of Catholics around the world commemorate the image’s survival in a devastating 17th-century earthquake that destroyed Lima, Peru.
