Athletes, coaches invited to event about faith, sports

SportsLeader and Sports Faith International invite junior high, high school and college athletes, as well as their coaches, to attend “Questions and Answers with Sports Athletes who Believe and Achieve” Feb. 23 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Norris Center at Northwestern University (1999 Campus Dr., Evanston).

Speakers for the afternoon include Kate Ziegler, Olympic swimmer and world championship medalist; Kerry Fraser, longtime NHL referee; and Dave Casper, NFL Hall of Famer.

Also on hand will be Legion of Christ Father Jacob DuMont, chaplain of SportsLeader, and Ron Meyer, host of Blessed2Play sports radio.

SportsLeader is a virtue-based mentoring and motivation program for coaches, schools and teams, whether public or private, who are interested in a structured, intentional and specific method and curriculum to help teach virtue.
