Nancy Paridy named Loyola Academy board chair

Nancy Paridy, Loyola Academy's new Board chair

Loyola Academy President Rev. Patrick E. McGrath, SJ, has announced that Nancy Paridy, JD, LLM, of Evanston, has been named chair of the Loyola Academy Board of Trustees.

Paridy, Loyola’s first woman to serve as board chair, was to receive the gavel from outgoing Board Chairman Roger P. Hickey of Glencoe (Loyola Academy Class of 1979) on Sept. 17, 2019, and will serve as chairman for a three-year term.

“Throughout the years,” notes Father McGrath, “Loyola has been blessed with tremendous trustees and board chairs. I am very grateful to all of them for their dedication to our shared Jesuit mission. Mr. Hickey provided leadership during a crucial time in our history as we brought our campus master plan to life. The transition to Ms. Paridy's leadership will be seamless. She is a gifted leader and a dedicated member of our community. As a parent of three Loyola graduates, she knows firsthand the value of the Loyola experience and will be tireless in working to provide that for our students today and for years to come.”

Paridy is the chief administrative officer and senior vice president at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago. Her leadership in healthcare and law has been honored through myriad awards. Most recently, in 2018, she received the Top Women Lawyers in Leadership Award from the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. She was also the inaugural winner of the “First Chair Award” given to the top general counsel.

Prior to joining Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in 1995, Ms. Paridy was the first woman partner at Rooks, Pitts and Poust (now Dykema) and practiced law at Nixon Peabody. Nancy and her husband, Steve Naughton as well as their children, have been parishioners at St. Joan of Arc Parish in Evanston for over 30 years.
