On Oct. 7 St. Alphonsus/St.Patrick School along with 10 other teams participated in the 2017 Brother Rice Academic Bowl. The contest consisted of several rounds of written test on a variety of subjects.

St. Alphonsus/St Patrick Celtics made it to the final buzzer round with three other teams. The Celtics won the competition with a score of 155 points followed by St. Cyril and Methodius at 55, Cardinal Bernardin at 25 and St. Cajetan at 25. Congratulations to the team members: Ian Mcguire, Alex Piet, Tyler Wilms, Luke Alfonso, and Ryan Ondracek.
