Sister Mary Therese Krueger, PBVM, from Chicago, professed vows of poverty, chastity and obedience as a Dubuque Sister of the Presentation Oct. 14, at Mount Loretto, Dubuque, Iowa.

She was joined at Liturgy of the Eucharist and the Rite of Profession by family, friends and Presentation Sisters and Associates. Scripture from the prophet Micah 6:8 was the theme for Mary Therese’s celebration: Seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God. Father Ross Epping of the Diocese of Davenport was the presider at the liturgy.

During the Rite of Profession, members of the Presentation community gave testimony to Sister Mary Therese’s commitment to justice, prayer and community and examined her readiness to profess vows. After professing and signing her vows she received a symbol of her profession as a Sister of the Presentation.

Sister Mary Therese is enrolled in graduate studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and is working as a physical therapist at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Oak Lawn. The third of six daughters of Deacon James Krueger and Ann Krueger, Villa Park. (Diocese of Joliet), Sister Mary Therese received her early education in Villa Park; she earned a bachelor's in Exercise Science from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa, and doctorate in Physical Therapy, St. Ambrose University.

What inspired Sister Mary Therese to enter religious life? “I believe it was the continued journey of my faith through my parents at home, my Catholic education at St. Alexander’s, youth group in high school, campus ministry at St. Ambrose University, and my young adult group after college,” she shares. “I discovered God was calling me to be the best version of myself in a place where I could live a life of service, living in community, and supported through communal prayer with the Presentation Sisters.”
