Parishioners at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Deerfield raised over $35,000 for their Lenten Project “Rain Down Blessings 2017.” The project will fund clean water and sanitation initiatives of the nonprofit organization Concern Worldwide U.S. in two impoverished areas of Bangladesh.

Parishioners who donated to the project were given plastic raindrops which they decorated and hung in the church’s gathering space. A core part of Concern Worldwide’s mission is to make sure that the poorest and most vulnerable people in the world attain their most basic rights, including access to clean water.

Holy Cross Catholic Church was founded in 1929 and serves over 1100 families. Our religious education program serves children pre-K through high school. The campus in Deerfield is home to Holy Cross School which serves pre-K 3 through 8th grade. For more information about the school, contact Principal Janice DiVincenzo at 847-945-0135.
