Our Lady of Unity at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Church hold a solemn pésame procession on Good Friday April 7, 2023. Pésame, a Spanish word meaning, “I am sorry,” is to present condolences for the loss of a loved one. After the procession, people presented their respects to the Body of Jesus and then approached the image of Mary to express their condolences. (Karen Callaway/Chicago Catholic)
