Vicariate II parishes host novena to pray for healing from clergy abuse

From April 20-29, 2021 parishes in Vicariate II hosted a novena to St. Catherine of Siena to unite the faithful in healing and atonement of the Catholic Church’s clergy sexual abuse. On April 27, worshippers gathered at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Glenview for the novena. Others joined the service online. The novena led up to St. Catherine of Siena’s feast day on April 29. She lived in the 14th century and is known as an advocate for reform in the religious and political affairs of the Catholic Church during a time of great crisis for the Church.
