Seven parishes join together to build houses

More than 200 volunteers from seven south suburban Archdiocese of Chicago parishes joined together to build the framing walls for three houses on June 23 and 24, 2023 at St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Parish in Tinley Park. The homes will benefit Habitat for Humanity chapters in Lake County, Illinois and Troup County, Georgia. The seven parishes have worked collaboratively to raise more than $20,000 for the housing project through donations. The parishes include St. Elizabeth Seton (Orland Hills), St. Francis of Assisi (Orland Park), St. George (Tinley Park), St. Julie Billiart (Tinley Park), St. Michael (Orland Park), St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr (Tinley Park) and Incarnation St. Terrence (Palos Hills).
