Fortnight for Freedom
A procession through downtown Chicago from St. Peter's in the Loop as part of a Fortnight for Freedom event took place on June 24. The campaign, initiated by the U.S. bishops in 2012, calls for a two-week period of prayer, education and action on preserving religious freedom in the U.S. One of the biggest threats to that freedom, the bishops state, is the HHS mandate. The observance ended July 4, Independence Day.
