Eighth-graders planning to attend one of the 33 Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Chicago should take the entrance exam Dec. 2 at 8 a.m. The exam, which was held in January in previous years, will now take place the first Saturday of December to give schools more time to make decisions on financial aid. Students should register for the test at the school they hope to attend. Families should consult the school where their children want to enroll to get more information about the registration process. The entrance exam fee is $25 payable either by cash or check to the school administering the exam. Catholic high school seniors graduate at a rate of more than 98 percent, and 95 percent go on to college, earning millions of dollars in college scholarships each year.
