St. Christina parish, school honor first responders at Mass

St. Christina Parish, 11005 S. Holman Ave., held a Mass for first responders on Sept. 29, 2024. At the end of Mass, St. Christina School students presented a donation to Elizabeth French, mother of fallen Chicago Police Officer Ella French, benefiting the Light the Line organization. French spoke about the organization before the end of Mass. The Mass was held shortly following the feast of St. Michael the Archangel, the patron of first responders. At the end of Mass, first responders received a blessing and a blessed medal of St. Michael the Archangel. The parish and school are home to many families of first responders.
