‘We pray that this peace walk touches someone’s heart’

Students at the Academy of St. Benedict the African, 6020 S. Laflin Ave., participate in the annual “Prayer Walk for Peace” on Oct. 19, 2023. A school tradition, the walk began in 2015 and has continued every year except for 2020 because of COVID-19. Officers from Chicago Police Department’s 7th District, volunteers and students from Leo High School escort the students on the walk. The school is located in the city's Englewood neighborhood.
