New playground for St. Thomas the Apostle School

Students at St. Thomas the Apostle School, 5467 S. Woodlawn Ave., try out the new playground equipment following a blessing and dedication on April 19, 2021. The school did not have playground equipment before. Instead, students played in the parking lot. As enrollment continued to grow, the parking lot became more crowded and was not a viable option for recess. The playground was made possible by donations from local businesses, school families, alumni, friends and parishioners of St. Thomas the Apostle. (Karen Callaway/Chicago Catholic)
