Archdiocese encourages parishes to plant Laudato Si’ gardens

Parishioners at Ascension Parish in Oak Park work in the garden on March 14, 2021, where they recently created cold beds and frames to begin growing plants and vegetables in cold weather months. The archdiocesan Creation Care Team is encouraging all parishioners and parishes to grow Laudato Si’ Climate Victory Gardens with vegetables, native plant gardens and flowers. Ascension Creation Care gardeners have several gardens they work each year and donate vegetables to St. Martin De Porres Parish food pantry in Austin. (Karen Callaway/Chicago Catholic)
