Workshop helps improve cultural understanding of Polish people
As part of the Renew My Church process, the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Polish Ministry Council sponsored two workshops titled “Polish Catholicism and the Polish Culture: Customs, Language, Values: Myths and Facts” to help non-Polish Catholics better understand the Polish community. The inclusion effort was held at St. Thomas Becket in Mount Prospect on Feb. 19 and at St. Monica on Feb. 22. Experts from the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Poland, led sessions about the history of Poland and the Catholic Church, the development of the Polish language and Polish cultural practices.
