Vatican readies October synod on young people, faith, vocations
The working document for a gathering of the world’s bishops focused on young people, the faith and vocational discernment has been published, and it underscores the direction that Pope Francis wants to take the church.
Pope Francis meets with young people ahead of October synod
Pope Francis has often called for a “listening church,” in which bishops, cardinals and popes do not just transmit the faith, but also receive wisdom from the people they serve. The pope is trying to put this into action with a “pre-synod” gathering in Rome ahead of a Synod of Bishops meeting this October on helping young people discover their vocations.
Pope to young people: Help rejuvenate church
The Catholic Church needs the enthusiasm, daring and hope of young people so that it can preach the Gospel energetically and respond to the questions men and women raise today, Pope Francis told some 300 young adults.
