Every year, Chicago Catholic honors the archdiocesan priests celebrating jubilees, who have dedicated themselves to serving the Lord through the Catholic Church. They often wear many hats, such as pastor, administrator, maintenance man, cook, accountant, friend. They have served mostly as parish priests, and some have also served as teachers, chaplains and counselors. Chicago Catholic congratulates and thanks them.
Parish offers refuge to priest exiled from Nicaragua
Father Erick Díaz, a priest whose citizenship was revoked by the Nicaraguan government for preaching the Gospel and defending human rights, is now living and ministering at St. Mary of the Lake and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Chicago’s Buena Park neighborhood.

Two priests ordained for archdiocese
Cardinal Cupich ordained two men to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Chicago May 21 at Holy Name Cathedral. Both men are in their 30s and were born and raised in the Chicago area. They begin their new assignments July 1.
