As CNS Washington closes, we reflect on more than 100 years of service
Catholic News Service turned 100 years old in 2020. Unfortunately, our birthdate coincided with the start of a worldwide pandemic, and many of our celebration plans were canceled. A highlight, however, was Pope Francis meeting with the CNS Rome staff in February 2021 to mark the anniversary.

Caller ID ruined a great analogy for hearing the voice of God. It used to be that you did not know who was calling until you answered the telephone. If it were someone you spoke with all the time you would recognize his or her voice. But if you had never spoken on the phone before with the person you might not know who it was at first.
